Itinerary

1
Day 1

Begin the journey with the world-famous Leshan Giant Buddha before overnighting near Mount Emei

📍 Chengdu, Leshan Giant Buddha, Mount Emei

After breakfast at the hotel, depart from Chengdu and drive along the Chengdu–Leshan Expressway to Leshan. After arriving, enjoy lunch in Leshan and taste local specialties before visiting Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area.

Spend around 4 hours exploring the Leshan Giant Buddha area. The entrance ticket is included. After the visit, continue to Mount Emei, check in at the hotel, and enjoy free time. Guests may choose to try local Mount Emei food or enjoy a hot spring experience at their own expense. The PDF notes that the default visit is by entering the scenic area; guests who want the boat-viewing option should inform the operator when booking, as it cannot be purchased on the departure day.

Day 2

Explore Mount Emei’s Golden Summit, Buddhist culture, temples, forests, and mountain scenery

📍 Mount Emei, Golden Summit, Chengdu

After breakfast, head to Mount Emei Scenic Area. Guests transfer to the scenic sightseeing bus and travel to Leidongping, then walk to Jieyin Hall and take the cable car to the Golden Summit area, depending on selected optional transport and physical condition.

At the Golden Summit, guests can visit the large Buddhist worship square and see the 48-meter statue of Samantabhadra. Depending on timing and route arrangement, the visit may also include Wannian Temple, Bailong Cave, Qingyin Pavilion, Yixiantian, the natural monkey area, Qingyin Lake, and Wuxiangang parking area. After sightseeing, return to Chengdu and check in at the hotel.

Day 3

Discover Dujiangyan’s ancient water engineering and Mount Qingcheng’s Taoist mountain atmosphere

📍 Chengdu, Dujiangyan, Mount Qingcheng, Chengdu

After breakfast, depart from Chengdu and travel to Dujiangyan. Spend around 3 hours visiting Dujiangyan Scenic Area. The entrance ticket is included, while the scenic electric cart is optional and paid separately.

After lunch, continue to Mount Qingcheng. The Mount Qingcheng entrance ticket is included. A suggested visiting route includes taking the sightseeing vehicle to the scenic entrance, walking through Yuting Pavilion, Yilewo, Shisun Hall, and Yuecheng Lake, then taking the cable car toward Ciyun Pavilion and Shangqing Palace. Guests may visit Taoist cultural sites such as Shangqing statues, Yuanyang Well, Magu Pool, and the former retreat site associated with Zhang Daqian. Optional sightseeing bus, boat, and cable car fees are paid separately. Return to Chengdu after the visit.

Day 4

Meet Chengdu’s pandas and explore the mysterious ancient Shu civilization at Sanxingdui

📍 Chengdu Panda Base, Sanxingdui Museum, Chengdu

After breakfast, depart for Chengdu Panda Base, about 30 minutes from the city center. Spend around 2 hours viewing giant pandas and learning about panda conservation. The entrance ticket is included.

After lunch, continue to Guanghan to visit Sanxingdui Museum, about 1 hour away. Spend around 3 hours exploring one of China’s most important archaeological museums, known for its bronze masks, sacred trees, gold masks, jade objects, and mysterious ancient Shu culture. After the museum visit, return to Chengdu and check in at the hotel.

Day 5

End the tour with Chengdu’s Three Kingdoms heritage, old street atmosphere, and poetic literary culture

📍 Wuhou Shrine, Jinli Ancient Street, Du Fu Thatched Cottage, Chengdu

After breakfast, depart for Wuhou Shrine Museum, about 30 minutes from the hotel. Spend around 2 hours visiting this important Chengdu cultural site dedicated to the memory of Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei, and the Shu Han period.

After lunch, visit Jinli Ancient Street for about 1 hour. Guests can enjoy traditional-style architecture, local snacks, souvenir shops, and Chengdu’s lively street atmosphere. Continue to Du Fu Thatched Cottage, the former residence and memorial site of the Tang dynasty poet Du Fu. Spend around 2 hours exploring the gardens, halls, and literary displays. After the visit, return to Chengdu and end the tour.

  1. Transportation
    Regular tourist vehicle service is included. For groups of 5 people or fewer, a 5-seat or 7-seat vehicle is arranged. For groups of 6 or more, the vehicle may be upgraded to a 9-seat business vehicle free of charge.

    Accommodation is included at designated hotels. If a solo traveler cannot be paired with another traveler, a single room supplement will apply.
  3. Meals
    Hotel breakfast is included. Other meals are not included, allowing guests to choose local specialty food freely.
  4. Driver / tour leader service
    The tour is operated with a professional driver throughout the trip. There is no full-time tour guide, and the driver does not enter scenic areas.
  5. Travel insurance
    Travel accident insurance is included.
  6. Attraction tickets
    The package includes tickets for Dujiangyan, Mount Qingcheng, Leshan Giant Buddha, Mount Emei, Mount Emei sightseeing bus, Sanxingdui Museum, Chengdu Panda Base, Wuhou Shrine, and Du Fu Thatched Cottage.
  7. Flexible small-group experience
    The tour is arranged as a 2–8 person small group, offering a more relaxed and flexible experience than a large group tour.

Not Included

  1. Major transportation to and from Chengdu
    Flights, trains, or other transportation between the traveler’s departure city and Chengdu are not included.
  2. Lunches and dinners
    Meals other than hotel breakfast are not included. Guests can choose local food independently.
  3. Single room supplement
    If a traveler books alone and cannot share a room, or requests a private room, the single room supplement is paid separately.
  4. Extra costs caused by delays or force majeure
    Additional expenses caused by traffic delays, strikes, extreme weather, flight cancellation or schedule changes, road controls, or other uncontrollable factors are not included.
  5. Invoice tax
    The listed product price does not include invoice tax. If an invoice is required, tax must be paid separately.
  6. Optional scenic-area transport and add-ons
    Some internal scenic-area transportation or optional services are not included and can be chosen voluntarily. Examples listed in the PDF include Dujiangyan electric cart, Qingcheng Mountain sightseeing bus, Yuecheng Lake boat, Qingcheng Mountain cable car, Leshan Buddha boat tour, Mount Emei Golden Summit cable car, Wannian Temple cable car, and similar optional items.
  7. Personal expenses
    Personal spending such as souvenirs, snacks, drinks, optional experiences, shopping, hotel incidentals, and other private purchases is not included.

What to expect

Travelers can expect a rich and efficient 5-day journey centered on Chengdu and nearby highlights. The tour combines famous religious landmarks, historical sites, natural scenery, cultural museums, and classic city attractions.

The first two days focus on Leshan and Mount Emei, including the world-famous Leshan Giant Buddha and Mount Emei’s Golden Summit area. Day 3 explores Dujiangyan and Mount Qingcheng, combining ancient water engineering with Taoist mountain culture. Day 4 highlights Chengdu’s beloved pandas and the mysterious Bronze Age culture of Sanxingdui. Day 5 brings the trip back into the city with Wuhou Shrine, Jinli Ancient Street, and Du Fu Thatched Cottage.

This itinerary includes several full sightseeing days, mountain scenic areas, cultural visits, and some long drives. Guests should expect walking, stairs, scenic-area shuttles, optional cable cars, and possible schedule adjustments due to traffic, weather, crowd levels, or scenic-area operating conditions.

Meeting and pickup

Pickup notice
The driver will usually contact guests before 8:00 PM on the day before departure to confirm pickup time. Chengdu pickup is generally available within the Third Ring Road area.

Additional information

Driver service only
The tour includes a professional driver, not a full-time guide. The driver does not enter scenic areas.

Seat rotation
Vehicle seats are not fixed. Guests may rotate seats during the trip.


Remote route reminder
Some sections of the route are relatively far from central Chengdu, and driving times can be long. Guests may prepare snacks such as bread, chocolate, or biscuits in case mealtimes are delayed.

Mount Emei and higher-altitude reminder
Some scenic areas, especially Mount Emei, have higher altitude and temperature changes. Guests should keep warm, rest well, avoid catching a cold, and prepare according to personal health conditions.

Accommodation note
Hotel conditions may vary by destination. During peak travel periods, if the planned hotel is fully booked, a similar-level hotel may be arranged. Twin rooms are usually arranged by default; king-bed rooms may be requested but are not guaranteed.

Shopping notice
Shops, restaurants, rest stops, scenic-area stores, local specialty vendors, temple-related shops, and similar commercial facilities along the route are not considered arranged shopping stops. Any purchase is optional and should be made carefully.

Health restrictions
This tour may not be suitable for pregnant travelers, infants, guests with serious heart, lung, brain, liver, kidney, blood pressure, respiratory, severe anemia, asthma, mental health, mobility, or other major health conditions. Guests should evaluate their own health before joining.

Travel insurance requirement
Travel accident insurance requires accurate and valid identity information, such as passport or ID details, provided in advance. If guests do not provide valid information in time, insurance may not take effect.


Return travel reminder
Because traffic, weather, road controls, and scenic-area timing may affect the schedule, guests should avoid booking tight same-day flights or trains after the tour.

Itinerary adjustment
The travel agency may adjust the visiting order without reducing listed attractions, depending on weather, traffic, road conditions, scenic-area flow control, and practical arrangements.
