Itinerary

1
Day 1

Step into Chengdu’s Three Kingdoms history and lantern-lit old street charm

📍 Wuhou Shrine, Jinli Ancient Street, Wide and Narrow Alleys

Begin the journey with a deep cultural exploration of Chengdu’s historic city center. Visit Wuhou Shrine, the only temple in China dedicated to both a ruler and his minister, where guests can learn about Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei, and the heroes of the Shu Han kingdom. The red walls, bamboo shadows, and traditional architecture create one of Chengdu’s most iconic cultural scenes.

Continue to Jinli Ancient Street, located next to Wuhou Shrine and often known as one of Chengdu’s most atmospheric old streets. In the evening, red lanterns, local snacks, traditional crafts, and lively storefronts bring the area to life.

End the day at Wide and Narrow Alleys, a historic neighborhood made up of Wide Alley, Narrow Alley, and Well Alley. Here, guests can enjoy old Chengdu architecture, teahouses, snacks, boutique shops, and the relaxed rhythm of local city life.

Day 2

Meet Chengdu’s beloved pandas and experience the city’s authentic slow-life culture

📍 Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, People’s Park, Chunxi Road

Start the day at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, where guests can see giant pandas and red pandas in a natural-style environment. This is one of Chengdu’s most popular and heartwarming experiences. Continue to People’s Park, one of the best places to experience local Chengdu life. Guests can sit at Heming Teahouse, drink jasmine tea from a traditional covered bowl, watch locals chatting and playing cards, and experience the relaxed “ba shi” lifestyle that Chengdu is known for. Later, visit Chunxi Road, Chengdu’s lively commercial district. Guests can explore shopping streets, see the famous climbing panda at IFS, and experience the modern energy of the city.

Day 3

Discover ancient water engineering and Taoist mountain serenity near Chengdu

📍 Dujiangyan Irrigation System, Mount Qingcheng

Travel from Chengdu to Dujiangyan to visit the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, a World Cultural Heritage site originally built during the Warring States period. This ancient project is still in use today and is considered one of the world’s oldest functioning ecological water conservancy systems. Guests can learn how ancient engineering helped shape Chengdu’s fertile plains.

Afterward, continue to Mount Qingcheng, one of China’s famous Taoist mountains. Known for its peaceful forests, ancient temples, and quiet atmosphere, Mount Qingcheng is often described by the phrase “Qingcheng is the most secluded under heaven.” Guests can walk through shaded mountain paths, listen to birdsong, enjoy the scent of tea and forest air, and experience a slower, more meditative side of Sichuan.

The trip ends after the Mount Qingcheng visit.

The third day takes guests outside the city to experience two of Sichuan’s most meaningful heritage sites: Dujiangyan and Mount Qingcheng.
